It’s cold. Not -26 degree cold – but cold nonetheless. Sunday morning at Point Pleasant Park – where the Halifax team is meeting for the first time! It’s overcast. The temperature in my car tells me it’s plus 3. Uh huh. Not so much. Standing in the parking lot, hopping and bouncing around to keep warm while waiting for the collective group.
After intro’s by our amazing head couch and – and a little motivation from this year’s mentors – off we went! I have not ever been so grateful to ‘get moving’ in my whole life! movement! body heat generation! yeesss!
We learn we will jog and walk ‘the track’ in the parking lot at the end of the container pier – alright – I’m down. But first – ‘has anyone come up with a new Team Myles cheer?!’ My mind draws a blank…ah hell no….really!? right here? right now? I was joking with Kristen (mentor obi wan kanobe for my pod) that I was struggling coming up with a pod name!
It must have been the biting wind…or sheer delirium – or perhaps a few brain cells were beginning to thaw out – and I surprised myself by announcing: “I have one!”
Wait…what?!? really Louise?!? No turning back now. No rewind button on this one!
“Team Myles Rocks!! Team Myles Rolls!! Team Myles is ready to hit their goals” !!! Understand that the latter part of that phrase may not be quoted verbatim – but you get the idea.
So there you have it. My Day One highlight as being an ambassador for Team Myles 2018! The journey has just begun – and I’m so very grateful, blessed and excited to traveling this amazing path!
