Last week was tough for me. I had a lot going on in my personal life and I didn’t get out to run as much as I wanted. I missed hills on Tuesday, managed to get to Zumba, but then missed Saturday’s long run. I did a short run on Sunday, but it’s been tough for me to get out and get it done. The weather has been gorgeous, but my feet and knee have been very sore. I can’t wait to get my hands on my new Brooks – I KNOW those will make my life easier and my running better. Until then, I’m trying to get out and listen to what my body tells me. If I need to walk, then I walk. If I feel I can run, then I run. There’s NOTHING worse than not listening to your body and hurting yourself. I won’t let that happen – I’m getting out and going, even if it’s slower than usual.
Starting Saturday, I’m in Ottawa so I’ll be missing a couple of our group runs, however, not going to deter me – I’ve got some running gear ready to be packed and I scoped out some spots that I can hit-up while I’m in Ottawa for my conference. Even if I’m sore and I have to walk – I’ll be doing the distance in Ottawa and thinking of my Team Myles teammates as I do. We’ve only got a couple weeks ’til race day and I’m dedicated – Blue Nose Weekend here I come!
