I did it again- a little faster

I ran the 11kms today for the 2nd time, and shaved 5 minutes off last week’s time! I did have some knee pain about 2/3 of the way through, but stretched it (thanks, Lisa for those!) and iced it for a while… No more pain! I’ve been running with my daughter at the Shannon Park track a few times a week, and she is running three times a week with her classmates in preparation for the youth run (sponsored by Doctor’s Nova Scotia). We’re both enjoying it, and are pushing each other. Running on the softer track is quite different then the concrete sidewalk. For better or worse I can’t say for sure yet. That’s it for now ,need some lunch!

Ray, you are looking so good these days. The effort you are putting into training is impressive. I knew you could do it and you’re just proving me right. See you tonight for supper.

Hello Ray,
Seems like your going to do ok on race day-keep up the good work!
I, myself, am having a little difficulty getting ready for race day. I only run about three times a week and I have just started to do 10k (twice), however my times are longer than I would like – about 70 minutes, and I want to do the bluenose in one-hour or less, if possible. I seem to be having stamina problems – I ran the 10k course on Sunday morning but yesterday I could only go 5k and had to walk/run the rest of the way home (8 k in total). Do you have any tips for me like how often I should be running and how much each time, also what foods/drinks should I be taking in before I do my runs?
Regards,
Gary Slaunwhite
