Physio is helping!!

I’ve been working with a physiotherapist for a few weeks now.
His name is Andrew Tingley and he’s awesome! He is a runner and I think that makes all the difference. He understands what I am feeling and I really appreciate that he takes me seriously. He never makes me feel like I must not be a “real runner” because I’m overweight. He truly wants to help me achieve my goal.
We have been trying stretches, acupuncture and taping. Yesterday, when I had my appointment I mentioned how much of a difference I could feel in my calves & shins. They feel pliable and relaxed. Before, they always felt fatigued and tight. Andrew noticed too! He said it was so much easier to put the acupuncture needles in – “Like Butter!”
Andre thinks the real reason my legs are doing better is because I eased way back on my running.
For this week, I am going to try different taping techniques and see how they feel.
I’m continuing to take yoga classes 3-4 times a week and I feel wonderful for it.
I am noticing a difference in my flexibility and my strength. I’m also becoming aware of my present limitations – like reaching my arms behind me – I can’t do that very well. I’m curious how to increase the flexibility in that area. The nicer weather and lighter night skies have helped my motivation greatly!
