Finding the time to train over the last two weeks has been challenging with various work functions, work itself and kids activities to attend. That being said, I was able to make the group run last Tuesday night for the 1st week of hill training. I was surprised with my ability to be able to do them as quickly as I did. It made me realize all the training to date is paying off. With only 2 months left before the Bluenose I am going to try and organize my calendar and schedule in the workouts so that they are a priority as much as anything else. With the weather becoming more springlike (sort of) I am also hoping to move away from the treadmill and get outside to train.

Training to date has been great except for a few setbacks. Suffered a bad head cold in early February which put me out of commission for a week. Suffered a shin split (probably from not stretching probably) two weeks ago which limited the training (walked instead). Finally my husband was away for a week just last week and with 3 kids under the age of 9 it was hard to find the time and/or energy last week to run the required kilos. All that being said I ran 14.4 kilometers yesterday for the first time and it was great. I could still talk and breath probably at the end of it so feel it was good. I have only been training on a treadmill given the weather and time constraints but looking forward to getting outside in the next week or so. I am heading out of town for a few days with work so hopefully they have a good gym at the hotel!
