Energized!

Officially, week 6 is complete. The nice weather has meant shedding some additional layers of clothing. That, coupled with the sunshine, has been energizing. I have been making the most of this recovery week and have likewise really enjoyed my runs. My 19 K run to round out the week was comfortable and enjoyable. Generally, I have been nearly useless for the rest of the day after my long runs. I am thrilled to report that this was not the case today. My stamina improvement has been amazing and I am looking forward to taking on the challenge of the longer distance of 29K next week.
This week I have also been concentrating on keeping my head up while running instead of looking down at the path in front of me. In between my shoulder blades had been aching by the end of my runs. This change has substantially decreased the pain. The other thing that this has changed is my attitude. By lifting my head and looking up I have actually become prouder. With my head up, I am able to greet others and accept their greeting. While I like to run on my own, I did love this interaction with other runners and walkers. So go ahead, lets encourage one another out there. Happy Training!

Cool job, Karen. Glad to see you stamina is coming along so nicely! Head up running always feels great–so way to go.

Great post Karen!!
Google the Brugger’s Postural Relief Exercise for between your shoulders. It’s been helpful to me over the past few weeks.
You’re an inspiration; see you at the start!
