…and so it is…

My interest in running started way back in grade 7. All the cool kids were signing up for the cross-country team. Being one of the “cool kids” (or at least thinking I was ) I signed up too. AND….that is where my interest in running ended. Yes, after my first cross-country “run”, I quit. Perhaps it was the tripping over a tree-root, skinning my knee, losing one of my sneaks and being one of the last to cross the finish line. I gave up. Oh yes, I was sooooo done with running.
Ok, here I am again 25 years later (more or less) trying the running thing again. I have to thank (or is it blame…) a dear friend for encouraging me to join Team Myles. She had participated with Team Myles two-years ago and trained for the 1/2 marathon. She found a true love for running. I have always admired her for finding the joy! So, I set a goal and have started my training to complete a 10k. I am happy to be on Team Myles – I believe it to be the pusher I need to complete this run. I’ll be (ahem…) 40 at some point this year and want to do something good for me.
I know this time…. I won’t be the last to cross the finish line – there’ll be walkers behind me (yay)!
Lots more to share – it is just the beginning!

Wow, Jacki, grade 7!!
To think, at the rate you are going now you will be able to complete the kids run in a good time.

Jacquelyn: If you can run as fast as the day you put the hole in the gyproc,we’re sure you will easily complete the 10k run. We are you greatest fans. Love you

You will be 40 in June. It sounded as though you didn’t know when? …strange.
Anyway, I will be there cheering you on no matter when you finish! xo
