Training with Team Myles! March 15th

I am thrilled to be part of team myles this year because although I’ve been running for more than 15 years, I’ve never properly trained for a half marathon. I have run 4 half marathons in my life and most were last minute decisions. My times have ranged from 1:39 to 1:51. Upon finishing these half marathons, I was completely exhausted, headaches and everything because I lacked stamina. My goal time for the 2010 half is 1:35.
Fortunately I am learning how to properly train for this distance and I am feeling great. I have never run this much in my life but Fred has taught me to run at a much slower pace (to build stamina) then I would normally and for this reason I really look forward to getting out for my runs every day.
Last Saturday’s 22.5 Km run (I did it on Friday) was tough but so rewarding in the end. I did the first 16km with my husband and felt great (he felt really tired), hope he doesn’t read this, and the last few on my own.
I can’t believe we’re doing 25 km this week but I am up for the challenge!
I am so excited about being prepared for the bluenose this year (thanks Fred!).
I’ll let you know how feel after the 25km run on Saturday.

cool. cool. cool. Glad you’re on the blog board, Gail. AND super-glad your 22.5 went so great for you (and your tired husband). Looking forward to seeing you for our 25 km this Sat and also excited to catch up with your regular blogs updates.
