Starting out with Team Myles I knew that my work schedule was going to make things difficult. Having to miss 2 consecutive group runs every other week has made it hard for me to stay on track with the group. That along with other things in life I’ve not been able to get on many group runs. That ends now. No more excuses, other than work.
I’ve never been involved in group sports, teams or anything with real accountability but that was my reason for joining Team Myles. I know I am behind. I’m ready to put the work in to catch up. I know that just being there, no matter how fast or far I go is always a step in the right direction. I don’t expect to be the fastest or the best runner, I just want to prove to myself that I can in fact do it.
Coming back from my trip to Cuba, I decided that it was time to buckle down, but now fighting an awful cold I realize I might have to take it easy this week. I’m not using that as my excuse to not show up. Being around and involved with a great group of mentors and committed teammates is what is going to make this a reality for me. So, I look forwards to seeing everyone this evening! I’ll be the one in the back.
