7 weeks to go – it’s hard to believe. But when the sun is shining, and you’ve got new #Brooks sneakers – you just need to #keeponrunning!
Many think the #BlueNoseMarathon is simply a race – but it’s so much more. Did you know that the participants raise money for 75 different #Scotiabank Registered Charities? There is a fun run for kids, a 5km, a 10 km, a half marathon and a full marathon? There really is something for everyone. PS – you don’t have to be a runner – people walk the course – and have a great time!
Why do I mention this? Because if you’re reading this post – or any of the posts of my incredible #TeamMyles teammates – you should know that you’re welcome, very welcome to participate in a way that works for you. If you’re a walker – sign up for the 5 or 10km. If you want to learn to run – there is still time.
There is a special magic around the races – and I can’t begin to do it poetic justice – but you become a part of something, and it becomes a part of you. Community and family members line the race course and cheer you on, they may be complete strangers, but they know you’re doing your best – and they’re cheering for you!
The #BlueNoseMarathon is an event for everyone. It’s more than a community event – its a Nova Scotian event – and there is an overwhelming sense of pride in running, walking of volunteering for this event that embraces who we are as Nova Scotians. There is huge hospitality to welcome you to the races, they feed you, they water you, and they even give you a beautiful medal for your participation. It’s a family – that lovingly encourages you to do your best, and supports a province of active, healthy people.
Why the big warm and fuzzy? Because it really is about more than running – and just because its a race, doesn’t mean you have to come first – you just have to do your best. But the first step is making the choice to participate – so sign up today! Register now – you won’t be sorry.
