Every six months I have an MRI to monitor my brain tumour growth and this Monday I had my semi annual meeting with my doctors to discus my latest MRI results. Let me tell you, these are by far the two most stressful days of my year. I received the wonderful news that my tumours had not grown at over the past 6 months! During these meetings the group of doctors run various tests on me, one of the tests is a balance test in which i must march on a spot with my eyes closed. Due to my disease I have really poor balance, and usually do very bad in this test, but this time I was able to march with very little balance issues. My doctors were so impressed and it was such a confidence booster for myself. Its these little things that I am so grateful for as they come back to me. The doctors had also commented on how I was looking much better and they were very happy and encouraging to to hear about how the training was going. My Neurosurgeon is a runner himself, he does marathons, which comes as no surprise considering hes done 22 hour surgeries with me haha.
I really can say that I am living a much healthier and joyful life thanks to my Team Myles experience. Everyone on the team is so supportive and friendly that it makes the training very easy.
We ran 8K Saturday at Shubie Park, I had never been there before. it is such a beautiful trail, and we couldnt have asked for better weather, FINALLY FINALLY we had a nice warm clear day to run haha. It really makes a huge difference, we all killed that trail. I am really enjoying discovering all the trails around the city that I`ll be able to run at this summer, Shubie will definitely be a trail i`ll return to lots over the summer
I hope everyone has great week!!
