I Believe I Just Might Be A Runner .. afterall

Well it has been a nasty cold winter, but the goal is now in sight, with less than 3 weeks to the big show! Upon reflection, I have learned a lot about myself and about people in general. When I started this journey, my goal was to just be able to run… any amount of time and the shortest distance possible i.e. 5k. Through the training sessions and support offered me by my #TeamMyles Team Mates, Mentors and Coach Dev, I can honestly say I now believe that I just might be a runner after all!  This past Saturday, marked a milestone for me when I ran 7.5k. The only way I was able to do it was through the encouragement of one of our Superstar Mentors – Tanya. She stayed beside me almost the whole way, encouraging me every step of the way. Tonight, was our FINAL HILL NIGHT … I say this with some regret because I have come to look forward to Hill Night ( Don’t tell Dev!)  We ran.. and I mean ran.. for 20 minutes NON STOP.. UP and DOWN the HILL…At one point, I thought I would be sick, but then Coach Dev came along and just kept encouraging me. My Fabulous Team Mates each gave me encouragement and I cannot thank everyone enough for their support. With all of this support, how can I not run the 10K with all of them? I’ve learned this about myself: I CAN do whatever I set my sights on and MORE! Which brings me to my second take away – people are AMAZING! All, virtually strangers to me at the beginning of this journey, I now count them amongst my circle of friends. Such generosity shown by each and everyone as we have supported each other through weather, injuries, classes, runs, hills – you name it. Onto the homeward leg of this incredible ride – Shubie Park run this Saturday, then a preview of the 10K on Tuesday!

I GOT THIS… afterall, I AM A RUNNER!

    OK I just became very very excited reading this, and do you want me or yourself to contact Sue with your distance change :D You keep saying you owe people, but YOU are the one putting in the work. Be proud of every step and in three weeks when we are done it will be time to celebrate, and YOU ARE A RUNNER :)
