You know the saying, Life isn’t measured by the number of breaths you take but by the moments that take your breath away. I think it should continue on to say, just don’t forget to stop and recognize those moments before they float away.
Saturday is a day full of moments. The the sun is shining. My tinnitus is not roaring (finally, after 3 weeks, silence truly is golden) and we had a great Team Myles run where our progress is starting to really show. Our route was different, down Point Pleasant Park, in front of Halterm and finally halfway down the waterfront and back. Teammate Deborah introduced me to Chi running and we ran to the sound of a ticking Metronome. It really kept our rhythm on track, including my breathing. I focused on that ticking sound and things did seem to fall into place. Our legs started to run of juice only at the end, but we did awesome. Thanks for that Deborah.
Teammate Patty and I then doubled back (driving at the point) and had the best coffee ever at the Farmers Market. I didn’t give in and grab one of those oh some yummy looking pastries. On a side note, you really do get a sense of the city vibe doing this training.
Later on that morning, my trainer Jane and I met for a quick weekly check- in (a.k.a scale time). A number of months ago, I had purchased a something special for myself to put away and Jane graciously agreed to hold. When I hit a very particular milestone, there will be that very special moment and said item will be mine again. And on this day, I made one giant leap to get to that point. I am now a mere 0.5 lb away. I never thought I would see this day. Not in my wildest dreams. That special item could be a pack of gum right now, its doesn’t matter anymore. Its what is represents. Its not the final goal, but a big step along the way.
The day ended with Earth Hour and dinner with friends. Slept well this night. Dreaming of moments to come. Including the one where I am crossing the finish line.
